About the Hollywood Dodgers

The Hollywood Dodgers Youth Organization's mission is to help young people realize their full potential by fostering social and athletic skills, while building life-long friendships. Since our founding in 1958, we've been dedicated to instilling integrity and character in youth through a variety of social and athletic programs. To date, over 7,500 boys and girls have been part of the Hollywood Dodgers community.

We offer a wide range of activities, including basketball clinics and our annual Coaches Appreciation & Awards Night. Since 2001, we have partnered with our sponsoring organization, East-West Optimist of Alhambra, to host the Hollywood Dodgers Las Vegas Invitational. This is an annual basketball tournament in Las Vegas for boys', girls', and men's teams. Our Li'l Hoopsters Camp, designed for 4 to 7-year-olds, emphasizes early basketball development with personalized instruction and a 3-to-1 player-to-coach ratio. The Hollywood Dodgers participate in basketball leagues run by the Community Youth Council (CYC), South East Youth Organization (SEYO), Japanese American Optimist (JAO), and Nisei Athletic Union (NAU).

The Hollywood Dodgers Youth Organization places the highest premium on the growth of every member. We are proudly supported by Optimist International, one of the world’s largest and most active service club organizations, with over 80,000 members in 3,000 clubs. With the motto "Friend of Youth," Optimist Clubs offer impactful programs that positively reach over six million young people each year.
